AAC Core Vocabulary Activities I See, 9 Adaptive Books for Special Education & ABA

Build early language with AAC core vocabulary activities targeting the core word “see” using interactive adaptive books for special education, autism, and ABA. This resource supports AAC, PECS, and speech therapy goals through structured sentence building (“I see a…”) to develop expressive communication and labeling skills.

Includes 9 engaging sets (food, animals, clothing, vehicles, community helpers, and more) designed for early learners and students with autism. Each activity uses visual supports, Boardmaker symbols, and simple choices to promote success in speech therapy sessions, discrete trial teaching, and guided practice.

Includes digital Boom Cards, Google Slides, and Easel activities plus printable PDFs (color and black-and-white) and flashcards for flexible use across settings. Perfect for building AAC use, core vocabulary, and functional communication in special education classrooms.

What’s Included:

✔️ Digital Boom™ Cards: Picture cues, Boardmaker™ symbols, audio support, drag-and-drop activities
✔️ Google™ Slides and Easel™ versions
✔️ Printable PDFs: Color and black-and-white options for laminating or student copies
✔️ Flashcards: Color and black-and-white for versatile use
✔️ Great for: speech therapy, students with autism, ABA, and anyone building language skills!

⭐This is the BUNDLE for “I See a …”. Current activities include:

  • Food items (40 words)
  • Farm animals (10 animals)
  • Pets (10 animals)
  • Zoo animals (15 animals)
  • Clothing (30 items)
  • Furniture (20 items)
  • Vehicles (30 items)
  • Community Helpers (30 helpers)
  • Body Parts (20 parts)

Digital Boom™ Cards: Each slide has a picture of a common word and the sentence stem “I see a …” at the bottom using Boardmaker™ symbols with audio. Student selects the correct symbol (out of 2 choices) and drags it to complete the sentence. The next slide has a simple activity to reinforce the correct choice (e.g., “Put the bear in the cave”). (Food items have a menu since it’s a large deck and no second slide for the words.) Similar activity in Google™ Slides and Easel™.

Print: PDFs with the same content in color AND black-and-white to give you options. I like the color to laminate and hook-and-loop to reuse, and I like black-and-white to print copies for everyone to have their own and cut and paste and take them home! Includes flashcards in color and black-and-white!
